Born in Brazil—Luiza in Rio de Janeiro and Gabriel in Santos—they crossed paths six years ago during a master’s program in Lisbon and have since combined their expertise to craft innovative design solutions. With over 12 years of experience each, Luiza excels at creating user experiences that seamlessly blend aesthetics and functionality, always considering user behavior and valuing the client’s vision. Gabriel, with his artistic flair and imaginative approach, views design as a means to explore new ideas and discover diverse solutions, recognizing that each project demands a unique strategy. Transforming Cocoroco's Website: Boosting UX/UI for a Seamless Experience

Cocoroco hired Selva to understand and resolve issues on its website, focusing on UX/UI. The project began with an initial meeting where clear objectives and a two-month timeline were set.

Despite facing bureaucratic challenges inherited from a previous agency, we used existing research, user personas, and branding materials as a starting point. We assembled a diverse team of developers, designers, and content creators, creating a detailed plan with defined tasks and deadlines.

We refined Cocoroco's brand identity, developing a style guide to maintain consistency on the site and redesigning the logo to harmonize with the new look. We also created new icons and images.

During the design phase, we focused on typography, color schemes, and imagery, ensuring a responsive design accessible on different devices. Rigorous testing confirmed compatibility.

Step 04 // From Design to Development

In the development phase, our front-end team brought the designs to life with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, while the back-end supported functionalities for candidates and agencies. We created and curated content, conducting quality assurance tests to ensure a functional site.

Step 5 // Launch and Optimize

We set up the server and domain, training stakeholders and content creators to manage the site. After the launch, we continued to monitor performance, security, and user feedback, implementing regular improvements.

Revamping 5CA's Careers Page: Improving Job Application Conversion

In the past, 5CA featured a careers page on its website. However, a significant challenge emerged with low conversion rates. Users found it difficult to locate available job openings, resulting in frustration and a high rate of application process abandonment. 

Recognising the importance of addressing this challenge, a decision was made to overhaul the user flow and enhance the overall user experience, with the understanding that a considerable portion of users primarily accessed the careers page via mobile devices. 

This decision led us to adopt a strategic approach in the creation of an improved 'Careers' section on the website, placing a strong emphasis on User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design. Throughout this discussion, we examined critical steps, including initial research, design, content strategy, and continuous optimisation, all aimed at providing a more user-friendly experience for job seekers."

Step 1 // Benchmarking

We started the project with market research to understand the expectations of job seekers in the 5CA field and ensure the design worked well across different devices. We analyzed what competitors and major players were doing in terms of UX and design, identifying best practices and areas for improvement.

Step 2 // Setting Objectives

Considering that many users access the website through searches or ads, we set clear goals for the "Careers" section. These goals included attracting high-level talent, providing transparent information about job openings and recruitment processes, and increasing candidate engagement and retention. We developed a user flow focused on job searching, identified as a critical pain point in the previous design analysis.

We created initial wireframes to establish the basic structure of the careers page, including the navigation bar, search filters, company information, and employee testimonials. After the initial meeting, where we presented the benchmarking research and preliminary wireframes, it was proposed to begin the UI design immediately and delay testing until after the page launch, with incremental adjustments as needed.

In our UI design process, we prioritized developing an attractive design that aligns with the company's visual identity by selecting a captivating color palette, clear typography, and suitable icons. We developed strategic content for the careers page, highlighting company values, benefits, employee testimonials, and job listings, ensuring clarity and relevance. We integrated interactive features such as application forms, resume uploads, and applicant tracking systems to streamline the application and selection process.

Both Cocoroco and 5CA needed to attract top talent for remote positions. Despite having job openings, application conversion rates were low. We were tasked with creating A/B test ad campaigns on LinkedIn to determine which creatives and messaging would effectively increase visibility and applications.

We developed multiple ad variations for Cocoroco and 5CA, targeting different audience segments, including remote job seekers and companies needing customer support talent. The ads featured diverse headlines, visuals, and calls to action aligned with each brand's value propositions.
